Goals & Objectives
Instructional Goals:
1. To provide an overview of research, statistics, and definitions of Blended (Hybrid) Learning Higher Education
2. Introduce approaches and strategies to redesigning a course for a blended format
3. Discuss and examine role of establishing community in a blended format
4. Recommend a framework for creating quality blended learning experiences
5. Introduce instructional technologies that can help facilitate blended learning
6. Collaborate with peers from a variety of disciplines to Leverage background and proficiencies
Learning Outcomes:
During the learnshop, participants will be able to accomplish the following
1. Define blended learning in higher education.
2. Evaluate a blended course’s strengths and weaknesses.
3. Design a module for blended delivery utilizing a blended module design tool.
4. Develop a plan for designing a blended course or redesigning an existing course as a blended course.
5. Explain the value of community in the blended course.
6. Identify quality assurance principles and practices in a blended environment.
7. Review and select instructional technology options for delivering blended courses.
